The Paris Agreement entered into force on November 4th 2016.
165 pledges were submitted as part of the Paris Agreement to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. These pledges, or Nationally Determined Contributions, represent 192 countries and account for 99 percent of global GHG emissions.
The category of countries used by the IPCC in its Fifth Assessment Report was included High Income country (HIC), Upper Middle Income country (UMC), Lower Middle Income country (LMC), Low Income country (LIC) (Source: AR5, Working Group III, Annex 2).
Unless otherwise indicated, the target year for the implementation of the pledge is 2030.
