As of September 1st., 2016, 162 pledges were submitted as part of the Paris Agreement to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. These pledges, or Nationally Determined Contributions, represent 189 countries and account for 98 percent of global GHG emissions.

The category of countries used by the IPCC in its Fifth Assessment Report was included High Income country (HIC), Upper Middle Income country (UMC), Lower Middle Income country (LMC), Low Income country (LIC) (Source: AR5, Working Group III, Annex 2).
Unless otherwise indicated, the target year for the implementation of the pledge is 2030.
